Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1½ cups sugar
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 7 eggs, separated
- ¾ cup water
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ tsp cream of tartar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°F. Do not grease the pan.
- Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
- Add egg yolks, water, oil, and vanilla. Beat until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, beat egg whites with cream of tartar until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold egg whites into batter in three additions.
- Pour into a tube pan and bake for 55–60 minutes.
- Invert pan and let cool completely before removing.
