Your kitchen’s favorite workhorse.

Once my sister and I had children, we decided to divide the holidays. I hosted Christmas Eve at my house so the kids could open their gifts, while she hosted the formal Christmas Day dinner. Since I worked in retail, I needed something quick and easy. So, the first year, we made Italian beef sandwiches, pasta salad, and raspberry bars. What started as an effortless way to make the evening easier has turned into our Christmas Eve tradition — simple, cozy, and filled with memories.
1 tub (about 5 lbs) pre-made seasoned Italian beef with au jus (store-bought)
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
½ teaspoon oregano
Loaves of French bread
Provolone cheese
Hot giardiniera
1. Place the pre-made Italian beef and au jus in a slow cooker.
2. Add garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and oregano to enhance the flavor.
3. Heat on low for 2–3 hours, stirring occasionally until warmed through.
4. Slice French bread into sandwich portions and add the warm beef.
5. Serve with provolone cheese and hot giardiniera on the side.
